The British heavyweight scene is in good shape with the emergence of Tyson Fury, David Price and Dereck Chisora. But there is one fighter who has largely gone unnoticed, Richard Towers. At 6ft8 and weighing in at 250lbs, he certainly fits the mold of the modern day heavyweight. However, at the age of 32 and with virtually no amateur experience, how far can he really go?

Towers, formerly known as Hayles, was jailed for 13 years after being involved in the kidnapping  of a man from Sheffield. Having served six and a half years, Towers returned to pursue a career in boxing. Since turning pro back in 2009, he has amassed a record of 12 wins with no losses, 9 wins by stoppage.

A product of the Ingle gym and a natural athlete, his ventures in the ring have been exciting to say the least. He moves very well for a man his size and is equipped with fast hands and an explosive right.

Across the ring on Saturday will be American journeyman, Harold Sconiers, who's record reads 18 wins and 23 losses. Coming off a win over Jameel McCline and having made Olympic bronze medallist Deontay Wilder taste the canvas, he will pose a danger to the man known as ' The Inferno '.
