Super middleweight Adonis Stevenson is having a hard time securing an opponent for an IBF title eliminator. To date, Edwin Rodriguez, Thomas Oosthuizen and James Degale have turned down the opportunity to face Stevenson. The IBF is going down the line and the sanctioning body has offered former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik the opportunity to faces Stevenson.

Pavlik returns on Friday night in Las Vegas against Scott Sigmon (22-3, 12 KOs) at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. If he wins, Pavlik (38-2, 33 KOs, ranked number 8) will be given until Tuesday to give the IBF an answer about Stevenson (18-1, 15 KOs, ranked number 2).

"If he refuses to fight with Adonis, the new rankings will come out in June and the highest rated boxer in these rankings [except boxers who have already refused the invitation] will be approached," said Yvon Michel, promoter of Stevenson.

Pretty lame that DeGale, Oosthuizen rejects a chance to fight an eliminator. They must be hoping for an easier way to a titleshot. I cannot see Pavlik taking this fight either. He's still a big name and can get a crack at a belt and a decent purse based on past accomplishments. Stevenson is...

Man, I fear for Pavlik. If I was boxing I'd think twice before getting in the ring vs this dude. Guy is fkin HUGE and his power is INSANE. I would definitely fear for my life.

Pavlik-Stevenson, I say make it happen. It puts Pavlik in the mix of everything at 168 if he wins. And if Stevenson wins, it's a solid/decent win over a name fighter. Why are these guys avoiding Stevenson????
this won't happen, green as AS is as Pavlik's slipped a great deal , he knows it...he wants softer bouts for ezy $$...any name boxer takes him out...JCC jr will beat Pavlik...
We really need to see Pav against at least a decent opponent to gauge his progress but I tota...
