mark my words...this is going to be a very good fight. And I have to say I like this aura of respect that is surrounding this fight. So far it hasn't turned into two great fighters bashing each other. This is just two great old pros going at it, no talking...its just a boxing match. This is good stuff, that trash talking stuff is played out.

"I was one of the guys whom wrote him off, but he's got some good wins and still has his speed and skill".

So he accepts he wrote him off, not quite a contradiction, more a correction based on new events.

Good interview, he seems to be in a sound frame of mind despite being depressed with this latest hand injury.

Roy is old but the thing that makes this fight great is its not like Calzaghe is 25. To me that s what makes this fight make sense.

Jones' legs went, which is the first step in the downfall of a speed-based fighter. Footspeed goes before handspeed.

why isn't Calzaghe's age being talked about? I know he hasn't shown signs of slipping yet...but were talking about 36 and 39. This fighters are physically basically at the same point of their careers. Both have had 40+ pro fights...obviously Calzaghe is a top fighter right now and Roy isn't. But I'm just talking physically this fight is pretty fair...
