The simplest faints and foot work bother Louis ,Evander having also a much better chin and punch out put and pace ?This fight is over before Louis gets warmed up ...Holyfield 2nd round k.o.

To make this a fair fight, I think we should put Louis on the same "dietary supplements" that Holyfield was using.

In that case, my pick would be the Brown Bomber by decapitation, inside 3 rounds.

Joe Louis had chilling KO power as it was. Joe Louis on steroids and a modern style strength and conditioning program is a scary thought.

You have to remember that old school fighters often fought with their hands down to their sides saying, "bring it on". That's a HUGE technical mistake against a technician like Evander. He is too skilled for Louis. You guys get caught up in names, time periods, myths and it shows when doing fantasy Matchups. Holyfield is the greatest Cruiserweight ever. He is a top 10 all-time Heavyweight as well. He is also the only 4 time heavyweight Champion in history. He was a very special talent and it took a GREAT big man to even have a shot at beating him. Could Louis handle fighting BIGGER guys like Evander did? Bowe? Lewis? Foreman? Mercer? Moore? Etc. Smarten up humans!!!!!!! Holyfield by KO.
        Ok you're clearly trolling here!!

Eliseo CastilloSultan Ibragimov, Larry Donald, James Toney, John Ruiz and Michael Moorer were all Holyfields size or smaller! And guess what, he was beaten by them!

Holyfield wasn't a hard hitting Heavyweight, he relied on his cardio and pace to wear out and stop late his opponents! Against a Joe Louis accustomed to 15 rounds, he's not stopping him!

Add to the fact Louis was one of the most technically sound heavyweights ever, you think a Holyfield that was outboxer by the likes of a morbidly obese James Toney, Moorer or Chris Byrd would be able to outbox Joe louis?? Be real mate

And don't generalise and talk about Old School boxers "keeping their hands low" that's completely ignorant! There's a certain number of old schoolers that keep their hands low, just like a number of the new school fighters do too! The vast majority of fighters from 30-40+ years ago were technically better because the number of high level trainers were much more than these days!

And by the way if you want to talk about Holyfield you need to talk about the BALCO scandal, because physically there's no ways fighter of Evanders weight and build can go from being a skinny small LHW and CW to a JACKED heavyweight, it's an impossibility

I agree with you, and if Holyfield did beat Louis the 1st time, Louis wouldve won in a rematch and the rubbermatch. Thats the reason hes my favorite HW of all time, hed take an L and avenge it. Current boxer should learn from him!

A lot of people don't get that Louis isn't venerated because of some bias towards old school fighters, he really was that good. His ring intellect was off the charts. Blackburn developed him to be a precision bomber, a guy who could spend several rounds setting up one shot. Joe Louis wasn't about scoring points and winning decisions. He was about knocking men out.

Th notion Louis was a flawless Technical fighter is a myth, had that been the case he would not have dropped so many times .Next to Holyfield at any weight he is not as well rounded from defense to foot work...Louis being out boxed by 170 Conn, would be the same if Holyfield was out Boxed by Bobby Chyz ...Holyfield would have to have a very off night to lose this one.

You're an idiot and don't know what you are talking about. With the exception of Moore, who didn't really beat Evander. That fight should've been a draw. Anyway, that's the fight where he discovered he had a heart condition. Did you see the rematch? I thought so. Holyfield was finished by the time he fought those other guys. After they robbed him in the rematch with Lewis, he was finished.

Really? Then why did he and so many other fighter's from those days, fight with their hands in a vulnerable position to be hit? Huh? Smart guy. Ray Robinson was the same way. People always say how great he was, and he was but SRL is the greatest "Sugar" of them all.

I dont really like to argue with people online, but I noticed you didnt mention anything about Balco or modern training regiments. And Ali used to fight with his hands down too...
