Anyone that got to see a prime Mike Tyson will still buy his ppv if he fought in another sparring session today. People i've talked to about Tyson in his prime say he was a beast, everyone had to tune in when prime Tyson was fighting. Floyd and Mike are two very different style.

Tyson at his peak had captivated the world at an Ali like level. He was absolute must see TV. He was considered the pound for pound baddest, most feared man on the planet.

      Tyson.

Of course Tyson was more impressive, this must be one of the dumbest questions EVER! Mayweather has beaten better opposition but that dont change the fact that Tyson is WAY more impressive.

This is actually an easy one. At their peaks, it's obviously Mike Tyson. Mike likes to hit and was willing to take risks and chances in the ring, in order to get his punches off so that he can throw enough punches to KO his opponents.

Whereas, Mayweather on the other hand is the polar opposite. He is too defensive. He likes to avoid getting hit by any means necessary, even at the expense of being a non crowd pleasing fighter; By not opening up and being too economical with his punches.

So the question is which is the more exciting fighter inside of the ring and which fighter would boxing fans be willing to pay their hard earned cash on to see? Would it be a cautious fighter who is very reluctant to get hit and cannot throw or put enough punches together to hit his opponents or a fighter who goes out with reckless abandonment with every single punch with the intention of stopping every opponent as quickly and as frequently as possible? In other words, which fighter had the more fan friendly style? In my opinion, it was Mike Tyson. It's not even debatable.

The guy said more impressive. He didnt say KO machine. If thats the case you can say Matthysee is more impressive at his peak than Floyd. Floyd will never win that battle against any puncher but thats not what impressive is. Impressive is being dominant. Not just knocking guys out. Floyd rarely even comes close to losing a round. He can switch his style from fight to fight while Tyson is the exact same guy every fight. Floyd is nearly top notch at every single thing while Tyson was slightly flawed. Brutal guy but he's not more impressive at his peak than Floyd. Thats crazy.

More exciting? Yes. More hype? Yes. More box office star power? Yes. More impressive? Hell No and it truly is an insult. People just dont appreciate how great Floyd is. You will when he retires and the best fights you get are guys like Garcia vs Thurman or something. Then you will be yearning to see super elite fighters again. Just because he's not an all out brawler doesnt make him any less impressive. Shutting a guy out is just as dominant as stopping a guy in 5. Its just different styles
I'm FAR from a Mayweather fan, but this thread shocks me. People seem to have truly forgotten, or at least chosen to forget, what Mayweather was actually like at his best. He wasn't some prancing, safety first fighter who bored all the time. He cleaned out 130 and was stopping a hell of a lot better fighters than Tyson fought in the process. He was amazing.
