Keep dreaming, Marg would've beat him senseless.

      Who are you Nostradomus??

You don't anything for sure in boxing.

One thing for SURE is that SHANE IS WAY TOUGHER THAN COTTO.

Shane loves it when a guy comes straight at him..That's all Marge can do.

What saved Cotto is that he was able to back away...that..and the Ref jumped in when Shane hurt him in the 10th.

Like others I would rather see Marg/Mosley, but a Berto matchup would be nice just to see where Berto really stands. Like Scott said his chin is still up for debate.

i dont think that marg/mosley is as clear or as predictable as a fight as people are mkaing out, shane has great boxing skills and a good stamina - he'd follow the cotto blueprint and rack up the points up until round 6/7, then he would use his footwork and speed to keep marg chasing him. in fact if he can deliver some good punches to the body then i think that he can make it easier for fhimself later on in the fight as well.

berto/mosley is an interesting fight though, both are good fighters with good speed and good boxing ability. i think berto's chin is slightly suspect and maybe mosley could take advantage of it, a fight that makes sense for both camps.

maybe im letting my mosley bias getting in the way but i think mosley could beat both fighters - although on second thought looking at his last performance he might be KO'ed by both!! Although on another thought knowing the warrior that shane is hed be even more determined to set the record straight and show that he can still cut it with the best the welterweigh division has to offer.

Surely the Mayorga fight is an indication that Shane isn't good enough to beat Marg? Before the fight he was all for the Marg fight but when asked after the fight he wasn't as keen as he was before.

I dont want to see Shane out cold..Berto is more likely to make that happen..

Tony is not a big puncher..despite what people want to believe.

                Dude

Margarito would have HELL with Mayorga at 154.

You think Tony would have done better?????

                I don't..not at that weight.

That would have been a WAR with both guys having their moments.

Shane wasn't keen on WAITING a long time for Tony..He wanted the fight ASAP.The issue was his age and waiting a year for the fight.

Ya'll forget that Tony's wife and manager TURNED SHANE DOWN in 00 or 01

Where was Tony and all his call-outs when Forrest was Champion...or Mosley for that matter??

He didn't even call out Spinks or Mayorga

He was quiet as a mouse..

Actually, I seem to remember him calling out Mayorga and Mosley but were not interested because Marg was a nobody at the time.

Why does everyone believe Margs is this unstoppable force? He beat Cotto down because Cotto can't fight going backwards along with the soft chin. If hes so good why didn't he do that to P Will over 12rds? I believe a fight with Shane would be a great fight. I would actually favor Shane because hes better technically and hes faster. Margs has power going for him but thats it. If Cotto stuck to his gameplan and continued to box his ears off nobody would even still be talking about this guy right now. I give him his props for handling his business against the #1 guy at 147 but i think its a bit early to think he cant be beat.

You don't remember that at all.

Shane was hard-up for fighters because they were all heading for the hills..NOBODY from 147 to 154 wanted any parts of an undefeated Mosley.

Doghouseboxing made a cartoon of the guys at 147 and 154 behind the door as Shane knocked.

Shane was so desperate he tried to fight Keyvelos but HBO said it was too much of a slaughter.

                      I remember this all well..

                      You don't.

Tony NEVER called-out an undefeated Shane because his request would have been granted immediatley.

Forrest was the only guy that stepped up.
