Mexicans have excelled at boxing because it's a popular sport there and because they have the die in the ring rather than lose attitude. Many of the top boxers are primarily of Indian descent like Erik Morales and most Filipinos have very little if any actual Spanish blood. Countries like Thailand and Japan have also had success in boxing but they're not part European.
...LOLOL..."die in the ring attitude"?...is that another racial stereotype?...and are you sure you want to go there, the guy Hatton beat last, Castillo, looked like he quit to me...but I guess he had more spanish in him, so he's not a true Mexican?...it's amazing the BS you guys post on this forum...
I'm white, and I think there is definately some truth to what Dios is saying.
There is a reason that basketball, football and track sports are all dominated by blacks for the most part.
Blacks having on average proportionately longer legs and longer arms is part of the reason. However, I do not believe any race is naturally athletically superior or inferior.
I used to work as a doorman with a black guy who's an ex-pro football player running back. He's about the same height as me, but his legs come up almost to my waist.
Claiming black athletic superiority completely undermines the amount of work and dedication black athletes have put into being the best. It's also something that many whites feel which supports racist sentiment going back to hundreds of years of pseudo science that blacks are someone less evolved and therefore more animalistic, which is ridiculous.
Like Isaiah Thomas once said out of frustration about blacks being looked at as natural athletes "we didn't come out of a womb dribbling a basketball".
Tunney, you seem to the think the media and general population do not want to see white people succeed in athletics, particularly basketball, which couldn't be further from the truth. America is always looking for a white star, which is unfortunate that some people can't accept and embrace a black (or other) athlete the same.

Good post.
I'd just like to see an end to stereotypes. Research has shown there are greater differences between individuals of each race than between races.
However, most people don't realize there are some, like Kellerman and Dios here, who have a great deal of influence in the sports media and have been promoting the idea that whites are athletically inferior for many decades. Read about it here:
Haha Yeah But You Cud Go Even Further And Say Why Dont Blacks Have The Same Opportunies!!!! Why Wernt Whites ****** To The Black Man!!!!!!! Why Wasnt It Africa That Colonized The World ????? Why Was It Whites ??????
I don't know and those questions are beside the point. The fact is that Europe for whatever reason decided to colonize the world. It doesn't make me smarter then the next man if I decide to rob and take over his home.

Do you think... say... Samoans (sorry Tua) is as good at sports as, say, Blacks?

Great post...
Its a sad thing but more kids are playing B ball right now that are black than white because of the financial aspect of sports in general. B ball is a sport that can be played without the expensive equipment etc...
Sad but true, alot of of kids that are athletic as hell dont have all the opportunities and alot of them are from the inner city which is densely populated with no room for a baseball diamond, hockey rink, golf course etc... B ball is the joint among others.
Mexicans are spanish and indian (white and indian)
Filipinos are spanish and the Phillipines natives (white and PI indians)
...obviously you have no clue that cross breeding produces the "best" individuals?...in pitbulls and chicken fighting they call them "battle crosses" which is pretty much the same as crossing an european with an african...

That comment wasnt based on a "racial stereotype", it is part of the boxing culture in Mexico however. And I never suggested that attitude was exclusively a Mexican attribute, you also find it in Irish-American and Italian-American boxers.
