I'm going to say it: A B-level boxer today would KO SSR!!!
How is Floyd bigger and stronger than SRR? SRR started as a LW who had a fight a LHW. Was also taller than Floyd. Do you think Floyd could fight as a LHW?

I mean I guess that could hold true for HW's. Seeing that back in the day the top HW's rareley weight more than 225 pounds. While now is rare to see a top HW who weighs less then 225 pounds.

But, back then a WW weighed 147, today a WW weights 147. Where is the bigger and stronger coming from? A MW now weighs 160 a MW 100 years weigh in at 160. And, you can do that for every weight-class except HW I give you that.

I have not seen a faster fighter yet then Camacho or Taylor. so how are fighters from today faster?

And, honestly can't really say that Floyd was faster than SRR, maybe had better reflexes I give you that. But, SRR had very good speed.

As for as skills that again is not true. Go look at the top 10 P4P list of 30 years ago.

    Ray Leonard,
    Thomas Hearns
    Roberto Duran
    Alexis Argeullo
    Marving Hagler
    Salvador Sancehz
    Wilfredo Gomez
    Aaron Pryor
    Wilfredo Benitez
    Jeff Chandler

Compared that to todays top 10 P4P fighters.

    Pac
    Floyd
    Donaire
    JMM
    Caballero
    Mosley
    P-Will
    Dawson
    Wonjongkam
    Martinez

Tell me which P4P list overall has the better skilled fighters?

Now for the styles comment. Again that is not true. The styles from back then will work in today era. Look at George Benton for example

tell me if George Benton style is not similar to a very elite fighter of this era?

Go look at Charles Burley style

Are you saying this style and skill set would not be effective in this era?

Hell go even look at Primo Carnera style. And, tell me is not like watching Vitaly Klitschko.

And, look at Carnera size. He was 6'5 255-265 pounds, reach was 85 inches. Now compare that to Vitaly who is 6'7 245-250 pound with a reach of 80 inches.

Don't tell me that today's fighters in any way shape and form are better then fighters from back then.

A large part of this thread is loaded with bull**** and nutthuggery. Coward "coach" Webb, who is responsible for this pollution, ducked out of my arguments also.

You should be able to, unless you are just spouting nonsense.

Also take into the calculation that boxing where the premier sport back in the days. Now? Not even close. The best athletes dont even choose boxing.
Don't you understand that if we as a species never got better with each generation we would still be living in caves? If engineers and scientists of today are equal in intelligence and methods as the ones 1,000 years ago we would still have alchemy instead of chemistry. But I digress.

Anyone who disagrees that athletes today are bigger and stronger are disagreeing with the obvious. Even the general population is larger than it was 50 years ago.

And as far as athleticism is concerned, probably a bit of it is born, most of it is made.

Like JMM style a Nightmare for Pac also. But Pac did Beat JMM Twice in my book. When I Predicted this more than 3 years ago, I give Pac a 50-50 Chance on Floyd. But that was when Pac was still at 130 lbs. Pac surprise me more by stopping DLH. I knew he will stop Hatton easy and I knew Pac can Dominate Cotto 3 years ago.

But Pac has shown more than what I thought Possible, Floyd got Older also and Pac got much stronger too and better defensively. Right now I'm giving Pac more than 50% to win. In Fact I'm sure he will win.

I think you grossly underestimate how long evolution takes to make a dent.

Again. Tell me about the nutritional and technical advances that has had anything to do with boxers being better today.
You stated it so you should have examples.

              Seriously, tell me.

Pac is getting older too. Dude has had alot of wear and tear on his body. But how is he STILL getting stronger?

Here's the thing about the ATG list. There will never be an OFFICIAL ATG list because everything about the ATG list is just opinions. SSR is the best? He fought 200 bums. Ali is the best? A prime tyson would KO him, and there's no way you can prove me wrong, because it's not like science where you have methods and tests to figure out if it is indeed fact.

So the next best thing is to get as much boxing experts as possible to agree with you. And as far as I've heard, many great boxers and trainers have called Pac an ATG, whereas I've rarely heard experts call Mayweather an ATG. For example as far as I know, Manny Steward has never called Mayweather and ATG but he has called Pac and ATG on numerous occasions about him "being up there with the Ali's and Ray Robinson's."
