How he boxes isn't the issue IMO, its the fact that someone has yet to tell him to get Rosetta stone and learn some English..... That is what is going to make him some money.... His fight style is fine, marketing it is his problem.

Yeah and unfortunately I don't think him and his management understand that. When you get some time listen to this interview. Its long but very informative. They talk about how $350K that was offered vs. Avalos in Macau was insulting and refused to take a smaller purse than Zou Schming. lol

what rigo can do in the ring takes great skills...what he can't do however that others can takes guts and balls.

that shows you skills alone is not really the main attraction of a fighter. it's the guts to take the risks to earn a victory over your opponent is what catches people's attention.

a fighter with limited skills but have the guts to try and accomplish something more than his skills could provide will get more love from fans than a fighter like rigo.

My guess is that Rigo got to keep approximately 375k of his purse (50% of 750k). If bought that car outright, he was left with $125,000. Still good money, but if he blew that kind of cash on some wheels, what other lavish expenditures is he blowing his loot on? Tyson earnied about 300 million in his career, and look what happened to him. Guille better get his head on straight.

You're assuming that it's a choice. No one likes getting hit: limited skills forces boxers to take risks. Floyd doesn't need risks to win; neither does Rigo.

You think Brandon Rios, Mike Alvarado, and others like that enjoy getting hit? If they could avoid shots, they would. But they're not Floyd or Rigo so they have to bring it and say how much they "love it."
