HBO has been terrible this year with Boxing cards. They have the $$$ to make big fights but instead have a cheap card like last night. Before anybody saids that their saving $$$ and are avoiding paying fighters like Berto millions for fighting bums, I just want to say they have the big $$$ to give us megafights so they need to stop showing these poor mans card and use the excuse of using new fighters. GGG saved their ass last night and the whole summer their not bringing nothing to the table. Those China 6 round fights are bull****, HBO needs to tell Arum to give us better cards or forget about showcasing the likes of Crawford and Shiming zzzzz. HBO/Top Rank partnership is crap, HBO and Top Rank fanboys put your poms poms down and wake up.

The fight game show was horrendous last night. They took a shot at Broner/Malignaggi and Showtime because their making them look bad.

I hear posters say that HBO has the money to make big match-ups happen. In the current GBP vs. TR/HBO vs. Showtime climate, what are the match-ups that HBO isn't allowing to happen? Adonis/B-Hop is one, but I won't lose sleep over it cuz there are other match-ups I'd rather see.

So it's been good so far.
there is nothing good about HBO turning down fights.

          The last card: Shiming/whoever, Martinez/Magdaleno, Vilora/Estrada, and Vasquez/Ishimoto.

          The upcoming card: Shiming/whoever, Estrada/Melindo, Gradyovich/Munoz,
          Ruiz Jr/Hanks.

Arum made use of his names the first time (Viloria, Martinez, Vasquez), while this card is prospect-driven. Estrada/Melindo could turn out to be as good as Viloria/Estrada. Munoz won an IBF eliminator to fight Gradyovich, and Ruiz Jr. is fighting a undefeated opponent. I'm not as excited as I was for the first card, but I'm still looking forward to the upcoming card. Arum is working with the pieces he has, for better or worse.

and now we have the Arum and Shimming garbage. I have both too and this year has been good on both. Showtime better though but I have enjoyed both. My problem is they should have got Hopkins v Stevenson but it felt like they did what promoters do and protect a fighter. This is HBO not a promotional company.

The Shimming thing is I get its on HBO2 but this is a 30+ year old, in his 2nd fight, v a bum, in a 6 rounder, as the headliner. We have seen him and he didn't look spectacular so why must we see him again before he's gotten a few more fights? I don't care how popular he is or how much he gets paid, he shouldn't be headlining this telecast and being pushed by HBO. He has 1 fight.

Is this a sign of what's to come?

See what I meant? These clowns were nowhere to be found when Berto and Haymon were screwing fans at HBO. These are the same clowns who bashed Canelo for his tomato can fights led by GBP at HBO. Mayweather moves to Showtime all of a sudden HBO is evil. Hehe... what a bunch of sheeps.

What are you even complaining about?

Zhou Shiming is going to be fighting in Macau whether or not HBO wants to show his fight. His entire country is going to be paying attention to how he does; he's a two-time Gold medalist entering into the professional ranks.

It will cost HBO virtually nothing to show what is a very high-profile event in the boxing world. China is a country with over a billion people, just think of how many of their talented athletes might look at Shiming and see for themselves a future in the sport of boxing?

On top of that think of the attention he will be getting from Chinese-Americans over here!! These people do buy subscriptions and eventually PPVs for their fighters, just look at the great success Pacquiao enjoys over here. A big part of it is that he made boxing a huge sport in the Philippines, and the Filipino-Americans support him well for it.

It costs HBO virtually nothing to show this fight and it will create exposure for boxing to new fans. More boxing fans is good for the sport of boxing in the long term. What is the downside to HBO showing this fight?
