Angel Garcia, father/trainer of WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia, was angry when speaking to BoxingScene.com about Golden Boy Promotion's proposed 140-pound tournament.

Based on the discussed layout, Danny Garcia would fight Zab Judah on Saturday night, and then IBF champion Lamont Peterson would fight Lucas Matthysse on May 18th - and then the two winners would face each other - and then the winner of that fight would face Amir Khan at the end of the year.

Both Peterson and Danny Garcia hold victories over Khan. Angel feels that his son Danny, not Khan, should have received the final spot in the tournament. He doesn't like the idea of everyone fighting each other for a shot at Khan.

"[Amir Khan] ain't the king. Why is he going to sit on the throne? He's ain't the king. In his mind he's still the champ. I don't care who you are, I don't care how many tickets you sell. I don't care if you're from Great Britain. We're in America and the champ sits on the throne. I don't care about the tournament, I don't care who he fights, but the champ sits on the throne. The champ sits and waits. If it does happen like that, the champ sits on the throne. If Danny would have lost to Khan, he would have never given Danny a rematch," Angel told BoxingScene.com.
