Last week BoxingScene ran an article in which Kevin Cunningham, the manager of former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander, stated that he wanted his fighter to face Selcuk Aydin of Turkey if they couldn't secure a fight against IBF welterweight champion Andre Berto or Paulie. Malignaggi. A fight against Aydin could be for the mandatory position in the WBC to face champion Floyd Mayweather.

For such a fight to happen, Aydin must first defeat Jo Jo Dan on November 19th in a rematch of last year's controversial victory by Aydin on the Turkish fighter's home soil.  Many observers felt that Dan did enough to leave the ring as the victor.

Chris Ganescu of Gankor Promotions reached out to Boxingscene to issue the

following statement:

"I read with interest your article on BoxingScene this week regarding the future fights of Devon Alexander.  I promote Jo Jo Dan and we have a rematch versus Selcuk Aydin ordered by the WBC based on the very controversial decision from our first fight last year in Turkey."

Ganescu obviously feels that his fighter did enough to win the first fight and that he will prove again that he is the better fighter in the rematch. Ganescu went on to say Aydin can fight Alexander but it won't be for the mandatory position.

"Jo Jo Dan won the first fight and he will win it again on November 19th.  I see Alexander's team is calling out Aydin? He can have him no problem, but it's not going to be for the WBC silver belt or the mandatory spot. My guy will have all that after November 19th," said a confident Ganescu.
