There are several fights being worked on in Mexico. WBA lightweight champion Miguel "Aguacerito" Acosta (27-3, 21KOs) is likely to defend his title against Ricardo "Pelón" Domínguez (31-6, 19KOs). This fight will take place on September 11 on the undercard to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Pawel Wolak.

On September 4, Jorge Solis (39-2, 28KOs) will defend the interim WBA super featherweight title against Naoki Matsuda (33-8, 13KOs). On the same card, Omar Nino will defend his WBC flyweight title against Alex "Nene" Sanchez.

On the September 15 card which is slated to feature a battle of former champion between Marco Antonio Barrera and David Diaz, former champion Ulises "Archie" Solis (31-2, 21KOs) will face César Canchila (28-3, 22KOs).
