Former world champ Juergen Braehmer served as both promoter and trainer in a show in Nuremberg, Germany, on Saturday. He fared well as a promoter but had to throw in the towel when his cruiserweight Armend Xhoxhaj (18-4, 9 KOs) was out on his feet against Huseyin Cinkara (22-0, 18 KOs) and had to be retired.

Cinkara  looked very good against Xhoxhaj in the IBF eliminator.

Maltese boxing comes alive May 31 in Ta Qali when Scott Dixon, a 48-year old Scotsman based in Malta, is set to return to action against Steve Martin in a 10-rounder.

Dixon (40-12-4, 12 KOs) has fought just once in eight years – and that was four years ago. In Martin (18-6-2, 12 KOs), Dixon will face a fighter he used to train but whom now harbors bad blood.

Swedish super middleweight titleholder Niclas Elfstedt (12-2-1, 6 KOs) will appear on the undercard.
