Junior welterweight Frankie Figueroa wanted to set the record straight on BoxingScene.com about some of the gossip pertaining to his recent stint as a sparring partner in Miguel Cotto's training camp for the November fight with Manny Pacquiao. Figueroa denies any talk that he knocked Cotto down in camp, or that Cotto knocked him down.

"I didn't drop Cotto. He didn't trip or fall or whatever. He didn't drop me. It wasn't a Puerto Rican thing like a lot of people have been saying. We both were puttin' in our work and I don't know what happened," Figueroa said.

Figueroa was genuinely upset and said it like this - "Ryan if your boss goes up to you and says you have been doing one article a week and we need you to step up and do three or four then you know what you need to do. If they say you did one article last week so you are fired you are going to want to know why.  I am a man not some kind of animal. If you send me home don't just send me home, tell me why. I don't know if [Top Rank promoter Bob] Arum sent me home or who did it."
