BoxingScene.com was advised by Kalle Sauerland of Sauerland Event that Alexander Povetkin's shot at WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko is likely not going to happen in September but he expects the fight to take place by the end of the year. Povetkin is the mandatory challenger to Klitschko's IBF title. He was set to fight Klitschko last December. An injury during training forced him to withdraw and he was replaced by Hasim Rahman.

"I don't think Klitschko will be ready by September. The IBF has set today for us to begin negotiations. We are ready but I don't think Klitschko will be ready," Sauerland said.
