After Kendall Holt made the first defense of his WBO junior welterweight title in Atlantic City, beating Demetrius Hopkins by split decision, he spoke with BoxingScene.com's Jose "OnFire" Aguirre.

Holt was originally scheduled to fight Ricardo Torres in a trilogy bout, but Torres pulled out a week before the fight with an illness. Hopkins came in as a late replacement. Holt was upset and says Torres lost his chance. He will not give Torres another chance unless the Colombian fighter is able to win a major title or happens to bring a lot of money to the table.

"I was extremely disappointed. I was really looking forward to a trilogy. Most legends in boxing have had trilogies that people talk about to this day. I wanted to be mentioned in those circles when people mention great trilogies. Unless he goes out there and gets another belt or they offer me an astronomical amount of money - he’s done," Holt said.

The next fight is already in position, a unification bout with WBC champion Timothy Bradley. Holt is ready for Bradley, but the fight he really wants is against Manny Pacquiao, who plans to make the junior welterweight division his home. Holt told BoxingScene that if Pacquiao comes knocking, a Bradley fight may have to wait. It all comes down to money and Holt will fight whoever has the most on the table. Holt and Pacquiao are both promoted by Top Rank.

"Bring Pacquiao. Bring Pacquiao and bring your checkbooks.  Dollars make sense.  If Pacquiao brings more dollars, Timothy may have to wait. If the dollars are going to be there [for a Ricky Hatton fight] Pacquiao is going to have to wait. I’m going where the money is. I’ve been doing this a long time. It’s time for me to start cashing in - show me the money," Holt said.
