The return of Miguel Cotto may move from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City to Madison Square Garden in New York City. Cotto will face Michael Jennings of the UK on February 21 for the vacant WBO welterweight title that Paul Williams left behind when he moved up to junior middleweight. Cotto-Jennings will be co-main event to a split-feed pay-per-view being put together by Top Rank. The other main event will feature Kelly Pavlik making a defense of his WBC/WBO middleweight titles against Marco Antonio Rubio, taking place im Ohio.

Bob Arum said the fight is tentative to take place at the Boardwalk Hall, but the executives at Madison Square Garden are interested in hosting the fight and Top Rank president Todd duBoef is currently negotiating with them. Arum says the press conference to announce Cotto's return is scheduled to take place in early January in New York.

"Atlantic City is a great place, but Madison Square Garden is a place that better suits the fans who follow Cotto. The people at The Garden are interested in hosting the event and Todd is working on that. We expect to finish everything in the coming week," Arum told Primera Hora .
