Mike Tyson thinks Tyson Fury will overpower Oleksandr Usyk when the two face each other this Saturday for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

Victory on Saturday will crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the ‘four-belt era’ and first since Lennox Lewis more than 25 years ago. Usyk has already been undisputed champion; achieving the honor when he won all four cruiserweight belts with a win over Murat Gassiev in 2018. The former cruiserweight has taken to the heavyweight division well, beating Anthony Joshua twice to collect three of the four belts. Tyson believes, however, that Usyk will be up against it when he faces Fury, and the 6’9’’ frame and 50-pound weight advantage of the Englishman. Tyson believes that Fury might be too strong for the Ukrainian.

"I look forward to that fight [Fury Vs. Usyk]. That is going to be an interesting fight,” Tyson told FightHype. “I'm going towards Tyson Fury because I think he's just going to overpower him. He's going to catch up with him and overpower him. I got to go with Fury. I think he's the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division. Great fighters lose, great fighters look bad, that doesn't stop them from being great fighters."

Tyson, who became undisputed heavyweight champion himself when he beat Tony Tucker back in 1987, was in the opposing corner in Fury’s last contest against Francis Ngannou. Fury struggled, and was dropped by boxing debutant Ngannou before having his hand controversially raised. Tyson believes that we shouldn’t be looking into Fury’s performance against Ngannou too much, insisting it was just a bad day.

"Hey, we should [not focus on what Fury did against Ngannou], but you have to understand that he is still the champion. He made that night a great night. He gave Francis [Ngannou] the opportunity, and that was just a bad night at the office for him. We all have bad nights, and listen, that was his bad night.”
