Former two division world champion Badou Jack (22-1-2, 13 KOs) is still targeting a showdown with WBC beltholder Adonis Stevenson.

Earlier this year, Jack - who at the time held the WBC title at 168 - went to a twelve round draw in a unification showdown with IBF champion James DeGale at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

After that fight, Jack vacated the WBC belt and announced he was making a move to the light heavyweight limit of 175-pounds.

Back in August, Jack made his debut at 175 by demolishing Nathan Cleverly for the WBA "regular" title on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor undercard at T-Mobile in Las Vegas.

After the WBA ordered him to fight mandatory challenger Dmitry Bivol, Jack vacated the title to place his focus on Stevenson.

Stevenson, however, has been ordered to fight his own mandatory, Eleider Alvarez - and that fight might go down in December or late January. If Stevenson made an attempt to avoid his mandatory in order to fight Jack, he would likely get stripped by the WBC.

“We are going to fight for another world title real soon, my promoter is working on it and we are going to do great things. Adonis Stevenson is the fight I want, he’s probably the biggest name right now in my division. It’s kind of open now, Andre Ward has retired so there are three belts for people to fight for, plus Adonis has got the WBC,” Jack said to Gulf News.

“My plan is to become unified light heavyweight champion, eventually stepping up to cruiserweight to become a three-division world champion. They scored the James DeGale fight a draw but I landed 100 punches more than him and he’s still injured. Everybody, all the experts, said I won. So I’ve fought five world champs in a row. Nobody in boxing has fought tougher than me, not even the superstars. nthony Dirrell, George Groves, Lucian Bute, James DeGale and Nathan Cleverly, five world champs back-to-back. Groves went on to become a champ and Bute was a former champ but all were or became world champions.”
