Former WBC cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (29-2-1, 19 KOs) believes that he could hang with the much bigger Deontay Wilder's (39-0, 38 KOs), who holds the WBC heavyweight world title.

Bellew shocked the world in March, when he moved up to the heavyweight division and stopped former two division champion David Haye in eleven rounds at the O2 Arena in London.

Because of that win, Bellew is being targeted by several heavyweight fighters. Before he retires, Bellew wants to make an attempt to capture a heavyweight world title.

During the pre-fight festivities for last month's huge Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko card at Wembley in London - Wilder and Bellew were involved in a face to face confrontation where some harsh words were exchanged.

Wilder's promoter, Lou DiBella, likes the idea of that fight and he's very open to discussing that possibility.

"This is a fight that's US versus UK and a fight with Tony certainly might help that story line, right? I think it's certainly interesting. [Bellew's promoter] Eddie Hearn knows how to reach me," DiBella told Sky Sports.

Bellew has a lot of respect for Wilder and his dangerous punching power, but he believes that his boxing intellect could potentially topple the dangerous slugger.

"He has no fear of taking a punch - he's not like the heavyweights of today, who are all scared to get hit," Bellew told Sky Sports.

"I've got massive respect for the way he fights, which is very similar to Anthony Joshua but technically not on the same level. Wilder is exactly what it says on the tin - he is wild. He is very powerful, very dangerous and very fast.

"However, he makes numerous mistakes and is wide open to anyone with a boxing brain. I have a better boxing IQ than Wilder has ever had. I'm a student of the game. But I'm under no illusions that if his right hand hits me on the button then I'll wake up in Neverland."
