WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia (33-0, 19 KOs) believes a win over WBA champion Keith Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) is the final piece of the puzzle in becoming the next superstar of the sport.

Garcia and Thurman will collide on March 4th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. CBS will televised the fight.

Over the last few years, the two division world champion has been working hard to secure a superstar position - with fights against Erik Morales, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Lamont Peterson, Mauricio Herrera, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Robert Guerrero and others.

Thurman has been looking for a signature win to take his own career to the next level.

Garcia is the underdog in this fight, but he's been the underdog in the past - against Khan and Matthysse - and pulled off career-defining victories.

"This fight will make me the face of boxing. It will lead me to the big fights, but one step at a time," Garcia told Carlos Gonzalez.

"With our styles it could be the fight of the year. I'll have to be smart, work the game plan and get into the ring to win one round at a time.

Garcia was a unified world champion at junior welterweight, and beating Thurman would replicate that accomplishment at 147-pounds. If he beats Thurman, there would be a lot of big names that Garcia could fight at 147 - or he could consider the possibility of once again moving up in weight - to the junior middleweight limit of 154.

For the moment, Garcia has no plans to move up. He wants to remain in welterweight division until his body tells him otherwise.

"I feel comfortable at 147 pounds. After this fight we will see how my body feels, but I will definitely stay in the welterweight division. I feel strong and ready, " Garcia said.
