Juan Manuel Marquez (57-7, 40KOs) sees no reason to face Manny Pacquiao for a fifth time.

The boxers collided four times since 2004. In the first meeting, they went to a controversial twelve round draw. The next two meetings, in 2008 (twelve round split decision) and 2011 (twelve round majority decision), were won by Pacquiao. Both outcomes were viewed by many controversial decisions.

There was no controversy with their fourth meeting, in 2012, as Marquez achieved his signature victory with a one-punch knockout of Pacquiao (58-6-2, 38KOs) in the sixth round.

Marquez is still considering the possibility of a fight. He's been out of the ring since winning a decision over Mike Alvarez in May of 2014 at the Forum in Los Angeles, California.

Marquez would like to do a farewell fight, potentially fight a welterweight title. The possibility of Marquez returning depends squarely on his health. He's been out of the ring for over two years due to lingering issues with his knee. He says his knee is now fully healed, but he wants to test his physical limtations with a very tough training camp. The former four division world champion has already started training.

Pacquiao is back in the ring on November 5th. He challenges Jessie Vargas for the WBO welterweight title at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

With Marquez hunting for a fifth divisional title, and the millions of dollars that are laying on the table for a fifth fight, would he consider facing Pacquiao - if the Filipino star overcomes Vargas for the WBO crown?

"For what [reason would I fight him again]? Right now we've won all four [fights]. The first was close, the second was close, I felt the third was wide [in my favor] and then we knocked him out. [If we'd fight again], we'd go in there like we did in the third fight, where we won wide, and they'd give him the decision. I don't want to make the mistake of wondering afterwards why I accepted that fight. This is not about money, it's a matter of honor and pride for my country," Marquez said.
