Friday morning, BoxingScene.com broke the news that former 168 pound champion and Super Sox winner Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) would face unbeaten light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera (17-0, 12KOs) on March 26th at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

Ward has since taken to his Twitter account and stated that he doesn't have a deal in place to fight any fighter in particular at the movement.

BoxingScene.com reached out to Barrera's trainer Abel Sanchez to get his take on the fight.

Sanchez said that he knew the fight was being negotiated but hadn't heard that deal had been finalized.

"You know I haven't talked to his manager. It is something that has been in the works and is something that is being negotiated for the last couple weeks. If that fight is finished it is news to me. He told me (Friday morning) that it was almost finished so I don't know for sure," said Sanchez.

As far as the fight itself, Sanchez, who trains Gennady Golovkin and several other fighters, said that he is very excited about the challenge that Ward and his world class trainer Virgil Hunter present.

"That is a good fight for us. Sullivan is 33-years-old. Sullivan is at the point where he has 17 fights and he needs to step up and fight somebody and if it's Andre Ward then its Andre Ward," Sanchez told BoxingScene.com

"I think it's a good fight for us. It is a good fight because of the position that Andre is in. If he is not the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now, he is one of them. If he is not, it is because he is not active."

"I look forward to it because we are going to be challenged by a guy who is very talented and I look forward to matching wits with not only Andre but with Virgil Hunter."
