World Boxing Council cruiserweight champion Grigory Drozd of Russia could be defending his green and gold belt for the first time in a rematch against former cruiserweight champion, Krysztof ‘Diablo’ Wlodarczyk, on May 22nd in Moscow.

 

Drozd defeated Wlodarczyk in a classic battle last year, also in Moscow, snatching the WBC belt in the process. During that bout, Grigory landed the best punches. Constantly fighting at distance, he knocked down Krzysztof  in the eighth round. The judges' scorecards were 118-109, 119-108 and 119-108, all in favor of Grigory.

 

Drozd, from Prokopyevsk has a record of 39 victories, with 27 KO´s. He was EBU and WBC International champion before conquering the world crown.
