Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (19-1, 13KOs) is back this Saturday night in Liverpool, when he faces Marco Antonio Periban on the Nathan Cleverly vs. Tony Bellew undercard. DeGale is the mandatory challenger to Carl Froch's IBF super middleweight title. Froch appears to have no interest in facing DeGale.

If the world title because vacant, then DeGale  would have to face the next contender in line, which is rising Mexican super middleweight Gilberto Ramirez. DeGale is more worried about Ramirez than he is about Froch. He feels the style of Froch is tailor-made for him.

"It's looking like March when I will fight for the world title, probably for the vacant world title, or if Froch changes his mind it could be against him. Next in line for me [after Periban] is Gilberto Ramirez, a tall Mexican southpaw who is 30-0 with 24 knockouts. I'm more worried about him than fighting Froch to be honest," DeGale said to scribe Nick Parkinson.
