Patrick Nielsen (15-0, 8 KOs) has returned from his American adventure ahead of his upcoming fight against Jose Yebes (11-2-1, 5 KOs) on September 22nd in Frederikshavn. The 21-year-old decided to change things up a little and has spent the last two weeks training in the United States. During their first week, Nielsen and his training group, headed by coach Karsten Rower, were located in the home city of Rocky Balboa, Philadelphia, before heading to New York for week two. “I definitely enjoyed the experience over there,” said Nielsen after his return. “We have done a lot of work and I am feeling really strong and the gyms were filled with some bad ass fighters which gave me some valuable experiences.”

A fact confirmed by his coach Karsten Rower. “This was a real eye opener for Patrick and a great experience. Patrick is in great shape and is not only physically stronger than ever but also mentally.“ The Danish professional is widely known as an exciting and entertaining fighter, he certainly brings an American fight style into the ring.

For this reason, it seemed like a great idea to take the trip over the pond and further develop his skills. “It is important for Patrick to gain different training experiences, these will make Patrick an even more complete fighter and will ensure his success in the future”, said his promoter, Nisse Sauerland.

“I would say that I have learned a lot,” according to Nielsen.” I definitely have grown in confidence. That will be very beneficial for my next fight as it enables me to pace myself during the early stages of a fight. I also improved my defensive skills and body movement, Yebes is in for a very tough night on September 22.”

Patrick will have to wait a little longer before he gets back to doing what he does best. In the mean time, he will continue his hard work back at his home gym in Berlin, Germany.
