WBC super flyweight champion Zulina Munoz, who attended the WBC weekly press conference, looked a touch pale but remained calm, poised and as usual good humored. Canelo Promotions won the purse bid for the long awaited battle between Zulina "Loba" Muñoz, the WBC super flyweight world champion and mandatory challenger Mariana Juarez. Canelo promotions threw down 1,150,000 pesos (80K USD) on the fight, beating out the competition. The auction was held this afternoon at the offices of the World Boxing Council in the Federal District, in the presence of Mauricio Sulaiman, head of the agency. Per the terms of the WBC, the fight will have a 60-40 split in favor of Munoz. The date and location will be announced shortly.

Maribel substituted Shondell Alfred at the last minute, as, WBC obligatory tests showed that Shondell was pregnant.
It's official - the World Boxing Council has announced that WBC super flyweight champion Zulina Munoz will fight a mandatory defense next, against WBC Silver super flyweight champion Mariana Juarez. The WBC's Director of Press and Boxing Sage Prof Victor Cota, explained the date of the mandatory is up to both sets of boxing promoters...by herein lies the snag. In a conference call, promoter Reginaldo Kuchle said that Mariana is chalked down to fight new WBC champion Jackie Nava next, probably in Chiapas in November. Somewhere down the line Mariana is also itching for a rematch with Ava Knight, who she fought when ill, and to whom she dropped a unanimous decision.

In the main event, WBC minimumweight champion Osvaldo Novoa (14-4-1, 9KOs) retained his title for the first time after stopped Alcides Martinez (12-3-8, 6KOs) in nine rounds, after the challenger was unable to continue any further. Martinez was down in the contest. In the co-feature, WBC super flyweight champion Zulina Munoz (42-1-2, 27KOs) scored a sixth round stoppage over Renata Domsodi (12-5, 5KOs). Munoz dominated and closed the show with a hook to the lived in the sixth.
