Zelfa Barrett: record, next fight and profile →
Zelfa Barrett scored possibly the biggest win of his career over a rejuvenated and determined Jordan Gill to win a slick and stylish clash and move closer to a world title fight.
Pat Barrett is happy. “That’ll do you,” he tells his nephew, Zelfa, after just a few rounds of sharp pad and tactical work. “Everything's good. Look at me. I can talk. I can smile. I’m sweating,” Barrett laughed as he sat by the side of the ring pedalling casually on an exercise bike. “I’m excited.” Ten days out from his fight with Jordan Gill, the 30 year old super featherweight is happy and relaxed.

Zelfa Barrett becomes the latest fighter from Manchester to headline the famous AO Arena this Saturday April 13 when he takes on a resurgent Jordan Gill
Domestic title fights rarely disappoint in the U.K., and the English junior lightweight title clash between Michael Gomez Jr. and Kane Baker in Manchester on April 13 looks like a sure-fire crowd pleaser.
At his lowest ebb last summer, Jordan Gill rededicated himself to boxing, breathed new life into his career and is now at peace and preparing for his April 13 fight with Zelfa Barrett.
Cast your mind back to 2019. Local heroes Anthony Crolla and Scott Quigg are both reaching the end of their outstanding careers and Manchester boxing is waiting for the next young fighter to pick up the baton and run with it.
It is almost nine years since Zelfa Barrett first headlined a professional show. On Halloween night in 2015, Barrett’s fight with Ismail Anwar topped the bill at the Castle Leisure Centre in Bury.
