At the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, junior welterweight Zab Judah (39-6, 27KOs) rocked Jose Armando Santa Cruz (28-5) in three rounds. After two rounds of boxing, Judah caught Cruz with a counter-left uppercut that sent the Mexican fighter down. He got up on unsteady legs, Judah finished him off with a barrage of punches against the ropes to get the stoppage.
Welterweight prospect Alex Perez (12-0, 7KOs) won a hard-fought eight round unanimous decision over Edvan Dos Santos Barros (10-10-1, 7KOs). Barros had his moments but Perez used his much taller frame and inside fighting skills to win most of the rounds. The scores were 77-75, 78-74 and 80-72.
Olympian and unbeaten welterweight prospect Sadam Ali (8-0, 4KOs) stopped Julias Edmonds (7-8) in three rounds. Ali dropped him once in the first, once in the second and finished him off in the third.
