Miami-Dade Police arrested “The Cyclone of Guantanamo” – boxer Yuriokis Gamboa Toledano – on charges of domestic violence Thursday.  Gamboa, 29, who was born in Guantanamo, Cuba, was booked around 5 a. m. His wife, Dunia Francisco, has scratches and redness on her arms and neck, according to police. His bond was set at $1,500.

According to police Gamboa and Francisco argued about an alleged infidelity. Around 3 a.m., the argument turned physical. Gamboa said he grabbed Francisco by the neck, as she tried to leave the house with their son.

“What happened is a personal matter,” said Gamboa’s attorney Tony Gonzalez. “There were no hits, or excessive violence. We are sure that this incident will not affect the career of a boxer like him. It will make him stronger and turn him into a better person.”
