Light heavyweight contender Yunieski Gonzalez (16-1, 12 KOs) is not going to leave anything to chance on December 19th at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York.

Gonzalez, an emerging top contender at 175 pounds, will face Ukrainian Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (14-0, 12 KO), an undefeated fighter who is represented by Golden Boy Promotions.

Back in July, Gonzalez lost a controversial ten round decision to former WBC champion Jean Pascal. His team realize that Shabranskyy is one of the emerging names that Golden Boy is trying to build as a future star within their company. Gonzalez will look to dominate the contest and preferably end it by knockout.

"Shabranskyy is one of the new names that Golden Boy is driving to save their future in boxing,'' said Michael Luzbet, manager of Gonzalez, to George Ebro.

"Oscar de la Hoya wants his fighter to win. Yuniesky can not leave anything to chance. Do not forget what happened to Pascal. We are going to close 2015 on a high note and we will have big plans for 2016 which will be definitely include a fight for the world title. Yuniesky knows that anything is possible after a convincing victory on the 19th of December. The future is in his hands."
