Yokasta Valle: record, next fight and profile →
Oscar De La Hoya will undoubtedly root for violence on fight night. For now, all he sought was peace with a former Golden Boy Promotions fighter. The Hall of Fame former six-division champ and GBP chairman chose to make amends with Seniesa Estrada during a

A historic doubleheader awaits, as a former two-division world champion will make his ring return in familiar territory and an undisputed four-belt queen will be crowned for the first time in the minimumweight division.
Seniesa Estrada has decided to go straight to her grudge match with Yokasta Valle. Estrada initially thought she would test out her surgically repaired right hand against another opponent before battling Valle later this year in their 105-pound title unification fight. BoxingScene.com has learned, however, that Estrada and Valle have instead agreed to meet March 29 at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Costa Rica’s Yokasta Valle hasn’t tasted defeat in a long time. It’s been over five years to be exact. A ten-round decision loss to Tina Rupprecht in 2018, on the road in Germany, was her second consecutive loss. Seventeen wins in a row says a lot has changed. On Saturday, Valle defended her IBF and WBO 105-pound belts with a near shutout longtime former WBA titlist Anabel Ortiz.
Yokasta Valle continues to feel the love at home. The raucous cheers of the partisan, sold-out crowd were enough to get the three-division and reigning IBF/WBO strawweight titlist through her latest title defense. Valle overcame a physically imposing—and blatantly dirty, at times—
Yokasta Valle was direct and to the point with the callout. “Seniesa Estrada, next fight,” the defending WBO/IBF strawweight titlist said in perfect English in her burning desire to further unify the division. “When we fight, I want to fill the San Jose soccer stadium with 50,000 in attendance.”
One of the sport’s most active titleholder racked up her latest victory. Yokasta Valle picked up her third win of the year and second in a span of just seven weeks after a lopsided ppints victory over Anabel Ortiz. The judges’ cards of 100-90, 99-91 and 99-92 were all for Valle, who successfully defended her IBF/WBO strawweight titles in front of a capacity crowd of more than 5,000 rabid fans in attendance Saturday evening at Polideportivo de Cartago in Cartago, Costa Rica.

The career slide continued for Humberto Galindo. A loss was avoided by the Tijuana native but he still had to settle for an eight-round, majority draw versus Chile’s Oscar Bravo. Ellis Johnson (76-74) scored the bout for Galindo. Robert Hoyle (75-75) and David Sutherland (75-75) scored five rounds apiece for Bravo, who suffered two point deductions to fall just short of an upset win Saturday at Fort Bend Epicenter in Rosenberg, Texas.
