Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the World Boxing Council, was shocked after hearing about the verbal explosion that came from WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

On Tuesday, during a group interview with reporters, Golovkin made numerous accusations against his upcoming opponent, Canelo Alvarez.

Canelo has been under fire since testing positive, twice, for banned substance clenbuterol back in February.

Golovkin rejected Canelo's claim that his positive tests were a direct result of digesting contaminated meat - which is ongoing problem for athletes from Mexico, because farmers use the banned drug on cattle to increase lean muscle mass.

Golovkin made claims that Canelo has been using performance enhancing drugs for some time and even made allegations against Canelo's promoter, Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions.

"Again with Mexican meat? Come on," Golovkin said. "I told you, it's not Mexican meat. This is Canelo. This is his team. This is his promotion. Canelo is cheating. They're using these drugs, and everybody is just trying to pretend it's not happening.

"It was pretty obvious when [Canelo's] muscles were all [enlarged] ... and with the traces of injections, which were visible. Before the first fight, I knew he was not clean. I can talk about Oscar De La Hoya too. He is also not clean. He's dirty."

Golovkin also made several statements against the Nevada State Athletic Commission, claiming they were giving Canelo preferential treatment.

Sulaiman was stunned by the statements and believes Golovkin is just talking out of frustration.

"What we are seeing is that Golovkin is simply demonstrating that he is a human being, for the first time he is acting like a boxer. He has always handled himself differently, he has never spoken out against anything and against anyone. He has the right to demand that an investigation be carried out, but I feel that he is mistaken in mixing up previous subjects... that is not the GGG that we know," said Sulaiman to ESPN Deportes.

"I knew about the complaints regarding Canelo's hand-wraps, but not about what he's saying [when claiming Canelo is dirty]. I feel he is confusing things as a sign of the frustration that has been accumulating throughout all this time, where he had give in to everything to get the first fight and now the second fight... he simply exploded and before he never did, but unfortunately he's confusing things.

"Golvokin is a boxer who has given a lot to this sport, he is an exemplary fighter, but he exploded. It has never happened to him before. I hope the controversy will soon be over and the greatness of a fight of this magnitude will not be taken away from him."

The rematch is scheduled for May 5th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
