Frank Warren, promoter for Tyson Fury, does not believe the recent upset of Anthony Joshua has changed the landscape of the heavyweight division.

Andy Ruiz sensationally won the IBF, WBO, IBO and WBA world titles at Madison Square Garden over the weekend, securing a seventh-round stoppage over Joshua in one of the greatest shocks in the history of heavyweight boxing.

Warren believes everything has stayed the same, with Fury as the top heavyweight in the division, and Wilder being the likely number two. Warren doubts Ruiz can beat either.

"We saw at the weekend in Anthony Joshua v Andy Ruiz when heavyweights let bombs go anything can happen. One big punch can change your career, change your life. Go and ask Andy Ruiz," Warren said.

"The heavyweight landscape hasn’t changed at all after Ruiz’s win. The number one heavyweight in my opinion is Tyson Fury. He beat Deontay Wilder, but they gave a draw.

“Andy Ruiz is game and has got fast hands, but has he the beating of Tyson Fury? I don’t think he has and I’m not sure he has the beating of Wilder."

Eddie Hearn, promoter of Joshua, confirmed on Tuesday that a rematch clause had been triggered, with Joshua and Ruiz set to meet again in November or December at an as yet unconfirmed venue.

"I would not mind if it was in New York again. I wouldn't mind if it was in England," said Joshua. "I feel like I was stopping off in New York and I want to come back home as well so I'd love it to be in England. But New York, man, they opened their arms for me and my whole team, and it was phenomenal. It was an amazing night."
