Vijender Singh Expects To Face Rocky Fielding in March

According to the promotional team behind Indian Olympian Vijender Singh, he will take on British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion Rocky Fielding, who will defend his newly acquired Commonwealth title against Singh on March 30 of next year.

Fielding won the Commonwealth belt on September 30 with a crushing victory over David Brophy in Liverpool.

Vijender, 31 and a bronze medal winner of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, has raced to 9-0 record as a pro, including a short stint with Frank Warren, on the back of a decorated career donning the Indian vest.

Fielding is far more experienced in the pro ranks than WBO Asia Pacific and Oriental super middleweight champion Vijender.

Out of a total 26 fights, Fielding has won 25 including 14 knockouts. The 30-year-old British boxer is a former WBA Inter-Continental super middleweight champion as well as a former WBA Commonwealth and English super middleweight champion.

His only defeat came at the hands of  highly regarded Callum Smith.

Fielding was scheduled to fight Erik Skoglund on December 17th at the O2 Arena in London, but the entire card was canceled when David Haye withdrew with injury from the scheduled main event with Tony Bellew.

IN OTHER NEWS: Triumphant WBC bantamweight champion, Mariana Juarez, attended the WBC weekly conferences to talk about her brilliant year and present her  2018 calendar.

Mariana, who has been a top boxer since her debut in 1998, thanked the WBC and its President Mauricio Sulaiman, for the magnificent and steadfast support she has always received. She said that being the current champion in the bantamweight division is one of her greatest achieved goals.

Fresh and unblemished from her KO of  lesia Graf, Mariana assured she is Keen to notch up more successful defences ASAP.

 Attractive "Barby" then  launched her 2018 calendar, where she shares credit with her sister Lulu Juarez, demonstrating why they are KO Sisters.

"The first time I was in front of the camera for modeling was amazing, I was so nervous. I did not know how my followers would react; however, the response was so positive that I am now presenting the 2018 edition. A calendar with quality photographs, which have the perfect balance between sensuality and elegance. I'm sure everyone will enjoy it."
