Even after a few weeks have passed, Victor Santillan (13-1) still can’t believe what happened at the Sumihoshi Ward Center in Osaka, Japan on June 11th in an Ioka Promotions main event.

Santillan travelled to the backyard of Sho Ishida and dropped a twelve round split decision in a WBA bantamweight eliminator. One judge had Santillan comfortably winning 118-110 while the other two scored the fight 116-112 for Ishida.

The Dominican Republic’s Santillan felt that he dominated fight and that it wasn’t even close.

“This is like a nightmare for me. I went to Japan and dominated Ishida in his hometown.  There is no way that he won more than 2 rounds, 3 rounds at the absolute most,” Santillan told BoxingScene.com.

“I demand the fight is changed to a no-contest or at the very least they give me an immediate rematch. I hope that justice will be served.”

Santillan revealed that his team is planning on protesting the decision and that he hopes they receive a quick and fair resolution.

“I’ve received several messages from fans and boxing insiders saying I got robbed. Some even sent me screenshots of apps where all the fans had me winning 9 to 10 rounds. In a rematch I will beat him raider, said Santillan.

The 27-yearly old southpaw was 2-0 during his 2022 campaign with 1 win coming via knockout.

Santillan trains in Las Vegas, Nevada with his countrymen Carlos “Caballo Bronco” Adames, Hector Luis Garcia, and Alberto Puello.
