Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) will have the backing of former light-welterweight world Champion and WBA welterweight titlist Ricky Hatton when he returns to action on a Frank Warren-promoted bill at the Manchester Arena on June 9.

The former heavyweight Champion is expected to name his opponent next week and it has been confirmed that Hatton will assist new trainer Ben Davison in the corner on the night.

The 29-year-old has been preparing with Davison at Hatton's Hyde-based gym and Hatton has revealed to Sheldan Keay of the Manchester Evening News that he has been added to Fury's team.  Hatton also believes the former titlist can recapture his former glories and titles.

"Ben and Tyson know I'm behind them 100 per cent. If they want me in the corner I'm there on their shoulder any time they want it," he said.

He added: "Tyson has been heavyweight champion of the world. He wouldn't have employed Ben if he didn't think he was capable of it. He's adding to what Peter Fury gave Tyson."

"Ricky will be helping us out and will be in the corner with us so we're very thankful to Ricky for that," added Davison when speaking to the MEN.

"Ricky is one of the best fighters that the country has ever produced and him and Tyson have a lot of common.  The facilities at his gym are great and we've got a great team now, so we're really looking forward to the fight."

Fury will co-headline the bill alongside Ancoats-based former WBO lightweight holder Terry Flanagan, who meets Maurice Hooker for the vacant WBO light-welterweight title.  Zelfa Barrett, Nathan Gorman and James Metcalf will provide undercard support with more fights to be confirmed by promoter Frank Warren.
