WBC and WBO female bantamweight champion Dina Thorslund (21-0) retained her titles with an eighth-round stoppage of a brave but outclassed challenger in Mary Romero (9-5), who had accepted the fight on two days' notice.

Romero looked dangerous early on, with big swings from both hands, but Thorslund avoided them and kept coming. Thorslund scored well to the body and Romero tired.

In the eighth, Dina landed with a right uppercut and Romero turned her back on the action in pain and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight.

This was Thorslund’s fight all the way.

Former WBC and IBO super welter champ Mikaela Lauren came back at the age of 48 and won with an easy stoppage when her opponent Mariami Nutsubidze (1-5) was forced to retire after the first round due to a shoulder injury. Lauren looked rusty during the one round the fight lasted and walked into some sharp counters from her much smaller opponent.

Lauren is now 33-6. Nutsubidze was a very late sub.

Cruiserweight Thorbjorn Boudigaard (3-19 landed a perfect right hand counter and Serbian Nicola Mandic (0-2-1) went down and out. Mandic was caught just as he tried to throw a punch himself and thus walked into the shot coming his way.

Super lightweight Francis Fordjour made an impressive pro debut as he knocked out Georgian veteran Ruben Movsesiani (15-27-1) in the very first round. Fordijour hurt his opponent with heavy hooks to the body and Movsesiani was first floored but got up and tried to make a fight of it, but went down again after two right hooks to the body and this time it was 10 and out.

The heavyweight clash between Mathias Hansen (3-0) and Georgian Tamaz Zadishvili (7-23-1) fell through on fight day.
