The resume of Terence Crawford is receiving a lot more love lately. For the most part, the 36-year-old has been given the side eye for his level of opposition. What took place at 135 and 140 pounds is extraneous but the work he put in at 147 pounds has been put under the microscope.

Throughout it all, Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) simply laughed as he demanded more higher profile fights. Yet, not until recently was he given his wish. After years of sharing the welterweight spotlight with Errol Spence Jr., the two officially got it on. Although most considered it a 50/50 matchup, Crawford made it look easy, stopping him in the ninth round.

Now, Crawford’s overall body of work is being viewed differently. For Teofimo Lopez, nevertheless, he still believes that Crawford’s 147-pound run has been heavily flawed if you take a closer look.

“The fighters that Crawford fought were handicapped,” Lopez told Boxing Social. “Errol Spence just announced about his eye, Jose Benavidez had a shot leg. Kell Brook was injured with his eye. Every fighter that Crawford has faced throughout the 147 division, whether it looks good on paper, was injured.”

As Lopez alludes to, Spence recently revealed that he underwent cataract surgery. Along with previous ailments of his prior foes, Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs) is convinced that Crawford is one of the luckiest fighters in the world.

More than anything, Lopez, as long as he takes care of business against Jamaine Ortiz on February 8th, is ready to hit the weight room and head on over to 147 pounds to face Crawford.

Some may call it an incredibly dumb move, while others believe Lopez is just joking around. However, the 26-year-old didn’t crack a smile as the interview progressed. Although he has nothing but respect for his skills, Lopez wants the throne that Crawford is currently sitting on.

“I’m not here to play games, I want to fight the best because that’s what it's all about.”
