Boxeo Telemundo events back on the move and in front of a live audience.

Dates and locations have been confirmed for the three-show spring season to kick off the series’ 2021 run, all of which will air from three separate venues in Central Florida. All three cards will permit crowds, though at a capped capacity in compliance with social distancing measures.

“We are happy to bring live audiences back to our boxing shows in Central Florida " Felix’ Tutico Zabala Jr., president of series promoter All Star Boxing, Inc. stated in announcing the first three shows of the year. "My first show in Kissimmee was 20 years ago and to this day, we have built a very strong Puerto Rican fan base.”

As previously reported by BoxingScene.com, the first installment will take place March 5 from Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida, with unbeaten Yomar Alamo (18-0-1, 12KOs) facing Jesus Beltran (17-3-2) in the main event.

One week later, the series heads one hour west to KO Addiction Boxing & Fitness Center in Plant City, Florida. The intimate venue hosts its first-ever Telemundo card on March 12, featuring junior flyweight contender Jonathan ‘Bomba’ Gonzalez (23-3-1)—a series favorite and former title challenger from Caguas, Puerto Rico—in a scheduled 10-round bout.

Capping the spring season, another venue makes its network debut as the March 19 show will air live from the Bryan Glazer Family JCC Auditorium in Tampa. Topping the show, unbeaten local prospect Connor Coyle (12-0, 5KOs) appears in a middleweight bout versus an opponent to be determined. The show also includes Julio Solis (3-0, 3KOs)—a 19-year old Puerto Rican lightweight who now lives in Tampa.

All three cards will take place with fans in attendance, with Osceola Heritage Park brass allowing up to 50% total capacity for the March 5 show. The boxing-friendly venue served as the Telemundo bubble for the summer and fall season shows, with eight cards taking place behind closed doors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Florida has since become among the few states to regularly permit large gatherings although never at full capacity. Whatever the limit, it will exceed the route that event handlers were forced to take for the final eight Telemundo shows of 2020.

“Having three back-to-back shows at limited capacity will give all the fans in the region a chance to attend,” acknowledges Zabala.
