Promoter Fernando Beltrán revealed that there is a high interest in finalizing a unification fight between world champions Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada and Roman 'Chocolatito' González.

However, he clarified that for now there has been no discussion with the representatives of the Nicaraguan star.

In 2012, at junior flyweight, Gonzalez won a twelve round decision in a very competitive fight with Estrada.

Beltrán, president of Zanfer Promociones, revealed that before they think about a rematch with Chocolatito, Estrada could face former world champion Carlos Cuadras, who is currently preparing in Jiquipilco, for a potential rematch with Estrada, who won their first encounter in September 2017 with a tight unanimous decision.

"We really want to do that fight (Estrada vs. 'Chocolatito' 2)", said Beltran to ESPN Deportes. “The only fight that Estrada made at junior flyweight was with Chocolatito. Now at super flyweight it will be another story."

There is especially interest now that Gonzalez has conquered the super flyweight championship of the World Boxing Association.

Both boxers have working relationships with Eddie Hearn of Match - which make Beltran very confident that a deal can be made with ease.

“I believe that Chocolatito needs Estrada more than Estrada needs Chocolatito. However, we want that fight,” Beltrán said.

"There have been no negotiations, there has been nothing. Also 'Chocolatito' is with Eddie Hearn and Estrada is with me and Hearn. It is a fight that can be done in five minutes."

Since that match in 2012, which González won by unanimous decision, Estrada, who is currently the super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council, has had 14 wins and one loss, while González has 15 wins and two setbacks. The combined three defeats of both fighters were against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.
