Light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera is already in his Boca Raton apartment, and started his first camp of 2019 with the aim of staying among the elite of his division.
Barrera is currently a promotional free agent and is currently in the process of weighing all of the received offers and choosing the best possible path for his career.
"Happy new year for all the fans of boxing, we are already back to camp in 2019," said Barrera. "It will be a great year for me. We have received several offers, but we are still negotiating what is best for my career. ''
The last time Barrera was seen in action, he won a dominant decision over contender Sean Monaghan on November 3 in New York, and now he is waiting to have a new promoter to help his career.
For a long time, the Cuban maintained a productive relationship with Main Events and had the opportunity to fight on several occasions on HBO, which last year made a network decision to drop boxing.
The start of the year was a bit rougher in 2018, when he challenged WBA world champion Dmitry Bivol on March 10 - with Barrera getting stopped in the championship rounds.
"We are working and preparing the cannons to face the best light heavyweights in the world," Barrera added. "We hope to be able to announce something to our fans soon."
The light heavyweight division is fully loaded, with Bivol, IBF world champion Artur Beterbiev, WBC champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk, and WBO champion Eleider Alvarez. There are also top contenders like Sergey Kovalev, Marcus Browne and Badou Jack.
