Before a euphoric crowd at the Coliseo Tomás Donés de Fajardo, world ranked Subriel Matias (13-0, 13 KOs) of Fajardo won by technical knockout in the sixth round over Mexican veteran Wilberth Lopez (23-11, 15 KOs) in a bout scheduled for 10-rounds.

"Lopez had gone the distance against champions Ivan Baranchyk and Alex Saucedo but with the pride of Maternillo things are different. Once again, Subriel showed that he belongs to the big leagues," said promoter Juan Orengo.

"This was my first fight that went over four rounds and I felt really good. I have to pay my respects to my opponent and his team who came prepared for the fight. Now I have to keep working hard to keep improving. Thanks to all those who attended the event and to those who supported us in the live broadcast on Facebook," said Subriel Matías.

Subriel (# 11 WBA, # 13 WBC and # 13 IBF) has significant victories over the fast track over former Venezuelan Patrick Lopez, Mexican Adrian 'Diamante' Estrella (who recently became regional champion of the World Boxing Council after beating favored Óscar Duarte), former world contender Fernando David Saucedo, Jeffrey Fontánez and Colombian Breidis Prescott.

Also on the card, Jovanie 'Lobito' Santiago (12-0, 8 KOs) won by unanimous decision over Mexico's Ivan Cano (25-9-2, 15 KOs) after the doctor on duty ordered the referee to stop the fight at 1:39 of the seventh over a cut on the Puerto Rican suffered on the left eyebrow due to an accidental head butt that started in the second round, but that got worse as time passed. The judges scored 68-65 (x2) and 67-66.

Jonathan 'Bum Bum' Lopez (6-0, 4 KOs) of Humacao, knocked out Leonardo Reyes (8-18, 3 KOs) in seven.

A boxer sponsored by Felix 'Tito' Trinidad, Steven 'The Punisher' Ruidiaz (5-0, 4 KOs) of Canóvanas, won by unanimous decision over Jeffrey Ramos (5-4, 2 KOs) in a fight scheduled for six.
