Don King, promoter of WBC heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs), has denied the WBC's information of a deal being reached for a mandatory defense against Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs), represented by Golden Boy Promotions.

WBC President Maurcio Sulaiman had stated a few days ago that a deal was reached for a date in December.

"We have been informed that both Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions and Don King of Don King Productions have already agreed to fight in mid-December, and therefore the purse bid scheduled for next week will be avoided," explained Sulaiman.

King says there is "no deal yet" and the scheduled purse bid, set for October 1, is going to proceed unless the two sides come to terms in the next two days.
