Stevenson-Cloud: Pascal, Alvarez Eyed For The Card

The light heavyweight title fight between champion Adonis Stevenson and former beltholder Tavoris Cloud is getting a strong undercard for September 28th at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Promoter Yvon Michel of GYM is looking to bring back former champion Jean Pascal (27-2-1, 16KOs) on the undercard. Pascal has been inactive since last December. He suffered a shoulder injury in the win over Aleksy Kuziemski, and then his Canadian super-fight with Lucian Bute was pushed from May to a 2014 date, January 18th, after Bute suffered an injury.

Pascal wants to stay active and shake off some rust, but Michel wants to ensure the boxer is healthy before finalizing his position on the show. Pascal was hospitalized in July after bad case of food poisoning.

Another boxer Michel is placing on the card is NABO/NABA light heavyweight champion Eleider Alvarez  (12-0, 8KOs). Michel expects great things from Alvarez, who knocked out Nicholson Poulard in three rounds in March.

Stevenson-Cloud it's big enough fight for the Canadian crowd at the Bell Center. Pascal developed the bad habit of getting injured each time he fights.
