On the undercard of Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, super middleweight prospect Daniel Jacobs (16-0, 14KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over a very game Michael Walker (19-2-2, 12KOs). Walker took the fight to Jacobs and took every punch that was thrown his way. He tried to rough Jacobs up, who switched up his style and boxed his way after not being able to get a knockout. The scores were 80-72, 79-3, 80-72 for Jacobs.

WBC super featherweight champion Humberto Soto (48-7, 31KOs) knocked out Benoit Gaudet (20-2, 7KOs) in the ninth round. Soto scored a flash knockdown in the first. But then Gaudet began to outbox Soto in several rounds by moving and landing quick combinations. Around the seventh, Gaudet began to slug with Soto and that was his downfall. In the ninth, an uppercut sent Gaudet down for the second time and he was badly hurt. He got up and a Soto three punch combo had him out on his feet as referee Jay Nady stopped the fight.
