Sor Rungvisai Wants Defense in Thailand, Then HBO Bout in 2019

By Steve Kim

It will be a busy stretch for Tom Loeffler and 360 Promotions in the late summer, in addition to him taking care of his duties for middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, who rematches with Saul Alvarez on September 15th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, he will have other cards to promote beforehand.

"August 8th at the Avalon again for '360 Promotions," said Tom Loeffler of his new series that began in late March.

This card in early August will be the third edition of 'Hollywood Fight Nights'. Then on September 8th, the third chapter 'SuperFly' will take place at the Forum.

"SuperFly 3 we're going to do what we've always done," stated Loeffler, of this highly popular franchise which focuses in on the lower weight classes, mainly at 115-pounds, "try to put the best fights together that we can at that division. The great thing about the super flyweight division is the guys don't have a problem fighting.

"They know it's a huge opportunity for them to be on HBO and it's a great stage."

There had been talk of a rematch between WBC super flyweight titlist, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada who battled tooth-and-nail on February 24th at the Forum on SuperFly 2, with Sor Rungvisai retaining his belt with a close majority decision.

But, it looks like the defending champion will not be a part of this upcoming lineup.

Loeffler explained - ''His promoter, who I have a good relationship with, informed me that Sor Rungvisai wants to take a fight in Thailand first, and then come back on HBO, probably at the beginning of next year."
