Shakhram Giyasov: record, next fight and profile →
Murodjon Akhmadaliev and Ryosuke Iwasa held their final press conference on Thursday from Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where the local fighter will defend his WBA and IBF super bantamweight championships against the Japanese veteran on Saturday, in an event that will also have two regional WBA titles at stake.
Uzbekistan’s undefeated WBA and IBF Super-Bantamweight World Champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev will return home to put his World Titles on the line against Japan’s Ryosuke Iwasa on a huge night of boxing at the Humo Arena, Tashkent on Saturday April 3, live on DAZN.
Shakhram Giyasov continues his rapid—and punishing—ascension from young prospect to rising contender. The first fight of the year for the 2016 Olympic Silver medalist from Uzbekistan earned his latest win in vicious style, scoring a one-punch 3rd round knockout of Nicaragua’s Wiston Campos.
Cecilia Braekhus and Jessica McCaskill are set to make HERstory. The pair of reigning unified titlists both made weight for their 10-round clash, which will mark the first ever female bout to headline a DAZN livestream from the United States. The bout tops a five-fight card which takes place Saturday evening from a makeshift outdoor venue in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Madrimov, Walker Final Presser Photos Gallery - The undercard will be led by Cecilia Braekhus (36-0 9 KOs) defending her undisputed Welterweight championship in Maryland against Jessica McCaskill (8-2 3 KOs), rising Uzbekistan star Shakhram Giyasov (9-0 7 KOs) puts his WBA International Super-Lightweight title against Francisco Rojo (22-3 15 KOs), and a trio of young talents complete the card in Nikita Ababiy (8-0 6 KOs), Raymond Ford (5-0 2 KOs) and the debut of amateur star Marc Castro.
Officially, Shakhram Giyasov gets back to work on August 15 when he makes his first start in close to a year against Francisco Hernandez Rojo in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In reality, the junior welterweight contender never stopped working after arriving in Indio, California six months ago to prepare for a fight on the April 17 card headlined by the Regis Prograis-Maurice Hooker bout.
Julio Cesar Martinez will defend his WBC World Flyweight title against #1 ranked McWilliams Arroyo as Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing USA return to action in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday August 15, exclusively live on DAZN in the US.
Hermosillo, Mexico - Undefeated Uzbek Super Lightweight Shakhram ‘Wonder Boy’ Giyasov improved to 9-0 with a stunning first-round knockout (0:41) of former world champion Darleys Perez, (34-5-2, 22 KOs), of San Pedro de Uraba, Colombia on Saturday night at the Centro de Usos Multiples in Hermosillo, Mexico.
It was over before it ever began, as Shakhram Giyasov knocked out Darleys Perez inside thirty seconds into their fight on Saturday. A thunderous left hook from Giyasov in round one cleanly caught Perez, and that’s all she wrote, as Perez reluctantly and hesitantly stood to his feet before referee Francisco Laveaga saved Perez from any further lethal punishment.
Liam Smith, Jono Carroll Weights Photos Gallery - Juan Francisco Estrada is set for his first homecoming bout in nearly three years. The two-division and reigning World super flyweight champion is set for the first defense of his recently acquired crown, as he faces American contender Dewayne Beamon (16-1-1, 11KOs).
