On July 28th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles a lightweight unification bout takes place between WBC champion Mikey Garcia and IBF titlist Robert Easter. Richard Schaefer, who's company Ringstar Sports, is promoting the event believes it is the best fight of the summer schedule.

"No question about it, even for those who might have a different agenda but if you're truly a fight fan and you look at it objectively - this is the best match-up, no doubt about it," said Schaefer on Saturday from the Staples Center where the official announcement was made prior to the rematch between Leo Santa Cruz and Abner Mares.

Schaefer says this bout was - "actually pretty easy to make because Robert Easter has hinted that this is the fight he wanted for a long time. These guys, whether you are Mikey or you're Robert, you want to test your skills against the best and that's what Robert told me before the press conference, 'you can not imagine how fired up I am. I wanted this fight for so long.'"

And for Garcia it's a long awaited fight back in Southern California. 2011 was the last time he fought in his home region.

"When I started working with Mikey that was the plan all along, to get him here to L.A. and hopefully the first of many appearances at the Staples Center. I really believe if you to become a U.S. pay-per-view global superstar, it starts right here at Staples Center and Las Vegas and so on. But L.A. is his to take, he can really own L.A. and he can own Staples Center and the early response we got from the ticket sales with the pre-sale is unbelievable."

Schaefer says around 3,000 ticket were purchased before the public sale which begins on Monday.

He continued - "I really expect a sell-out here at Staples Center and very happy for Mikey to be coming home after all of these fights, 38 fights to be headlining at Staples Center. Frankly, it's been long overdue."
